  • Lawrence Mazzotta
    Lawrence Mazzotta Founder, Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Mazzotta Is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Development. Mr. Mazzotta has forty years of development experience and has initiated and/or administered the design, development and project management of approximately $470 million of both new and restorative projects including residential, commercial and clinical development.

    Prior to starting his own development company, Mr. Mazzotta served as the Senior Associate Director at the University of Nebraska Hospitals and Clinics. Mr. Mazzotta has served on the boards of a variety of state, local and national organizations and has provided pro bono consultation to non-profit charitable organizations involved in the development of attainable housing.

    Mr. Mazzotta received a B.S. in Economics and Urban Planning; a Masters Degree in Public Management from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, where he was a Richard King Mellon Fellow, and completed All But Dissertation for a Doctorate in Public Policy at the University of Nebraska.

    Jim Hughes President/Chief Operating Officer

    As President and Chief Operating Officer of Meridian Development, Mr. Hughes is responsible for leading the company’s day-to-day operation including sourcing, assembling and executing real estate development opportunities.

    Mr. Hughes has several years’ experience in real estate development in the Midwestern United States and his expertise centers around contract negotiation, financial modeling, and market research. Between his experience as an engineer and as a developer, Mr. Hughes has managed on several large-scale projects with an aggregate value totaling over $500 million. Mr. Hughes is also a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.

  • Bobbi jo lucas
    Bobbi jo lucas Chief Administrative Officer

    Ms. Lucas serves the dual role of Chief Administrative Officer for Meridian Development and President of Cornerstone Housing Group. Ms. Lucas has twenty-nine years of experience in banking, finance, commercial and residential development and has been the lead developer for approximately $200 million of multi-family development.

    Ms. Lucas’ professional background is in financial management and securities. She holds both a Series 7 and 63 license from the National Association of Securities Dealers.

  • Brett Brockmann
    Brett Brockmann Chief Financial Officer, Director of Asset Management

    Mr. Brockmann is Chief Financial Officer and Director of Asset Management for Meridian Development and Cornerstone Housing Group. Mr. Brockmann has eleven years of experience in Commercial, Industrial, and Residential real estate development and property management. Mr. Brockmann has managed assets totaling $260 million as well as provided accounting and financial services for additional assets totaling $375 million.

    Mr. Brockmann received a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

    shawn coonen President of Beacon Property Management

    Mr. Coonen is the President of Beacon Management, LLC, an Accredited Management Organization, and an affiliate company of Cornerstone Associates. Mr. Coonen has 35 years of property management experience, and is an IREM Certified Property Manager, designated CPM of the AMO, and licensed real estate broker. The AMO accreditation is the only recognition of excellence given to real estate management firms. These firms set the standards for excellence in property and asset management.

    Mr. Coonen has supervised diverse portfolios throughout the Midwest spanning the gamut from new luxury communities, conventional, tax credit developments, HOA management, to receivership responsibilities and disposition. Mr. Coonen has and currently supervises a portfolio of multifamily assets worth $425 million; 4,000 multifamily units in 7 states.
